Fissure sealants are a thin, protective coating painted onto the deep grooves of new molars — where most childhood cavities begin. They're quick, painless, and one of the most effective preventive treatments we offer.
Who benefits from sealants
Children and teens are the classic candidates — the chewing surfaces of newly erupted molars are especially vulnerable to decay. Adults with deep grooves on their molars are great candidates too.
How they're applied
We clean the tooth, apply a gentle conditioning gel, rinse, dry, then paint on the sealant and harden it with a curing light. Total time per tooth is usually under 5 minutes.
